Joey's still my first Arabian. My best buddy and personal riding horse albiet semi-retired. Typey and tall...a good 15 hands. Extreme western, rocking horse lope, a jog trot smooth as silk. 17 years old in 2010...I've had him since he was 3. He's ultra-sensitive...very aware of his environment. He still can be a real FLAKE!
Joey had a rough 2010. He lost his best friend Tricia back in June. He colicked himself, a week to the day after Tricia died and then again a month later. Then he came up lame on his left hind after a turnout session. He was confined to a small pen to recuperate and that totally wigged him out, and he lost weight. I moved him back in the big pens with Marla and Vu and then put Doug in with him a few months ago and he's back to his usual congenial self. Planning to start riding him again in the new year.I'll keep you posted as to how that goes...
